PhD Student Session
The scope of this session is to provide an opportunity interact with colleagues and leading experts working on foundations, techniques, tools, and applications of software engineering. Students should consider active participation in the session if they have settled on a dissertation topic and have already outlined a research proposal. Participation of students at different stages of their own PhD program is welcome: both initial stage (first or second year) and mature stage (third or fourth year) students can benefit from the session. The major goals of the session are:
- provide participants with useful comments and constructive feedback on their current/future research activity;
- provide an opportunity for student to increase their body of knowledge in a collaborative and friendly environment;
- provide an opportunity for student to interact with established researchers and practitioners in the software engineering community;
To participate students have to send the following information to the student session chair Jorge Melegati (jorge dot melegati at unibz dot it) by Friday July 7, 2023:
- Personal information (first and last name, affiliation)
- PhD program stage: either initial or mature
- Title of the outlined research activity
Participants have to prepare a short presentation that should cover the following points:
- The problem to be solved with a justification of its importance
- Brief overview of related work pointing out open issues
- Short description of the proposed approach and expected contribution
- Current activity or plan for evaluating your work and results
- Progress in solving the stated problem
The session includes a number of:
- student presentations (15 minutes each); followed by
- Q&A sessions (5 minutes each)
